Privacy policy Stichting Takes One to Tango

Stichting Takes One To Tango (hereinafter "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and safeguarding any personal details you provide to us, whether you are visiting our website, attending our workshops, donating, or collaborating with us as a volunteer or partner. This policy explains how we use your personal information, how we preserve your privacy and safeguard your information, and details your rights regarding the information we use under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and relevant Dutch data privacy laws.


Who We Are


We are a non-profit foundation based in the Netherlands, aiming to promote mental well-being, social inclusion, and resilience among adults with mental health issues, neurodiversity, or at risk of burnout. Our activities are non-medical in nature and focus on guidance, education, and community building.


What Data We Collect

In connection with providing our services, we may collect and process the following personal data: 

  • First and last name 
  • Address details
  • Telephone number
  • Email address

If you browse our website or contact us via the website, we will collect the following personal data:

  • IP address, browser type, and the device you use to visit our websites 
  • Name and contact details you submit through forms.

If you contact us to apply for a volunteer position, we will collect the following personal data:

  • Name and address
  • Contact details such as (mobile) telephone number and email address 

Educational and work experience 


If you attend one of our workshops or events, we will collect the following personal data:

  • Name 
  • Contact details such as (mobile) telephone number and email address
  • Company information
  • Any feedback you provide.

If you support us with a donation, we will collect the following personal data:

  • Name 
  • Contact details such as (mobile) telephone number and email address 
  • Donation amount
  • Payment details such as your bank name and account number.
  • Anonymous donation can be arranged via crypto wallet.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive (special category) data, such as health data, unless you explicitly provide it with your consent for purposes such as workshop customization. We will keep special category data in strict confidence – only those members of staff who need to see or report on this information can see it.


How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to run our website, manage events and donations, respond to inquiries, and fulfill our legal and operational obligations. We may use your data to:

  • Send you confirmations or updates about workshops or events you      registered for.
  • Respond to your questions or feedback.
  • Process donations and provide receipts.
  • Keep you informed about our work or publications if you have opted in for this subscription. You are able to sign out of this subscription at any time via an opt-out link. 

We ensure that each use of your data is backed by a lawful basis under GDPR, including your consent, our contractual obligations to you, our legitimate interests, or legal requirements.

· In order to provide our services, we use trusted service providers, such as email platforms and payment processors.

· In order to optimise and improve the content and use of our websites, we use analytics tools.

We do not sell or trade your personal data. Your personal data will generally not be transferred to third parties or countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). In the event the transfer of personal data to third parties or countries outside the EEA is necessary, we take care to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.


Data Retention

We keep your data only as long as necessary for its intended purpose. You may at all times request the removal of your personal data.

We may need to retain certain information for longer periods, such as record-keeping / reporting in accordance with applicable law, or for other legitimate reasons like enforcement of legal rights, fraud prevention, etc.

If you apply for a volunteer position with us, we will retain your information ultimately for 4 weeks after the end of the application procedure. With your permission, we will retain your personal data for a maximum of 12 months.

If you opt in for the email subscription, we will retain your information until you opt out. 

After these periods, your data is securely deleted or anonymized.


Your Rights

You may have a right to access and rectify or erase your personal data, or receive a copy of your personal data, restrict or object to the active processing of your data, ask us to share your personal information to another entity, withdraw any consent you provided to us to process your data, a right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority (the “Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens”), and such other rights as may be relevant under applicable laws.

Data Security

We protect your data using technical and organizational measures such as encryption, secure access controls, and regular audits. Only authorized personnel have access to your information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law or our operations. We encourage you to check this page periodically. When we make significant changes, we will notify you on our website.
